FEEDBACK AND MASTERY PLAN
|
COMMENTS: Overall preparation is on par with standard regular lesson preparation and practice. Specific remedial attention needs to be placed on bringing higher levels of consistency in regards to centered pitch. Vibrato seems to favor the sharp side of the pitch which is a strong contributor to going sharp, especially during fast passages. Passage work comes across as hurried and frantic at times. Rushing during easier notes ( quarter notes especially in the concerto), cause the sixteenth note runs to become a good 2 to 3 clicks faster than the surrounding material. The Bach needs to have clearer structural arrival points and color changes, as well as more solid pitch centers on all c sharp and b flat measures.

MASTERY PLAN: SUGGESTED TECHNICAL REMEDIAL WORK - SCHRADIEK SCHOOL OF MECHANISM BOOK 1 PAGES 1-3 practiced without slurs then with 2, 4 and 8 notes to a bow. Practice in front of a mirror watching that the base knuckles on the left hand are parallel to the finger tips. FLESCH D MAJOR AND D MINOR STUDIES from Complete Scale System CONCERTO- ALL16th passages played half tempo with a metronome, backwards by measure. Then play again in order up 3 clicks then back 2 clicks on a metronome until achieving quarter note= 108 Work carefully and record your practice sessions. Away from your instrument mark clearly each sections peaks and climactic landmarks. Listen to many recordings. BACH- Consider doing a harmonic analysis of each measure, knowing the scale tones, and non harmonic tones. Practice playing the implied chords and notice the correlation to the Flesh arpeggio studies. Solidify clear bow stroke and articulation choices of each type of rhythm and be sure to remain consistent throughout the movement. Consider enrolling in personal mentor assignment and or area workshops. Good Luck!
