2006 STRINGS COMPETITION VIOLIN VIOLA CELLO BASS
PURPOSE: To encourage aspiring string students, recognize talent, and award
prize monies to assist in further artistic pursuit.
ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to all violin, viola, 'cello and bass string students
grades 9-12. (Metro Atlanta Area)
There is no entry fee.
REQUIREMENTS:
PRELIMINARY RECORDING Deadline April 3, 2006
1) Students should record one piece of your choice without
accompaniment, no longer than 7 minutes in length.
Unaccompanied works or works intended to have
accompaniment are allowed. (CD's are preferred)
2) Prepare a 1 page musical experience biography,
including contact information.
Recordings should be of the highest possible quality.
(CD's are preferred)
LIVE FINAL ROUND (by invitation) SUNDAY - APRIL 30, 2006 at 3pm
Includes two pieces:
1)Unaccompanied selection of your choice
2)Commissioned piece - Solo Caprice - A. M. Crane
Music will be available to all finalists by April 7, 2006
